Our design utilized a linear actuator, that pushes on 2 horizontal linkages. These horizontal linkages are connected to a vertical linkage and when the horizontal linkages force the vertical linkage up, the mechanism dumps the hopper over. The vertical linkage creates a scissor-like motion with the 2 horizontal linkages and is secured by a mount on the base and a sliding mechanism on the bottom of the hopper.
